Trick or Treat

Growl!!

Isaac Trick or Treat

Last night we went to Westfield Mall – Valley Fair to go trick or treating. Wow!! Was it ever busy! We were there right at 5pm and there were already so many people. There were line-ups outside of stores and tons of kids and parents running around. It was absolute madness. I don’t think I have ever seen a mall so busy, even at Christmas time.

We thought it would be better to take Isaac trick or treating indoors so we could let him safely walk store to store. But I had second thoughts when a lady almost ran over Isaac with her stroller. Her baby was sleeping in the stroller but she was still collecting candy. The baby was not even as old as Isaac. I thought she was crazy!

Ed thought it woul be cool to dress up as if he were going on a safari so that he could match up to Isaac's costume. It was a last minute costume he put together.

I think Isaac was overwhelmed by the experience but enjoyed the goodies in his bag. Of course we didn’t let him eat any of it, but he was happy sifting through and picking out items he liked. He even got a bite out of a crayon.

We didn’t stay too long in the crowded areas and decided to have dinner at the food court. It wasn’t as busy in that area but we knew the crowd would hit soon so we thought it was the perfect time to eat. Irene, David and her Mom met up with us at this time. David was dressed up as a cowboy. Isaac was excited to see him.

After dinner, we wanted to walk off our food. I also wanted to let Isaac run around some more and possibly play in the play area for kids. But when we looked at the play area, it was even busier than before. We decided against bringing Isaac there and just let him run around the rest of the mall. He managed to go into Express, listened to Kanye West and started to dance. We caught that part on video. He was too funny dancing in his tiger costume.

We had fun as a family and look forward to doing it again next year, maybe we’ll try to go a little earlier to try and beat the crowds. I am already trying to think of ways to dress up the kids as a couple. Hmmm… there are so many ideas…

  • one of the kids that stopped by our house with his parents was an infant, dressed as Pooh and was fast asleep in his dad's arms. He wasn't even a year old yet. Now that is too young for trick or treating!

  • He is just way too cute! He should come over in his costume. I'd love to see how Kobi would react :)
